An eight-member students’ fraternity group has been busted by the Ogun State Police Command.
The apprehended members were said to be teenagers from Ifo High School and were nabbed shortly after the principal of the school, Mr. Alako Oluwole, and another staff of the school, Mr. Akinselu Oloruntoba Julius reported their activities to the police.
The apprehended suspects are:
1. Omolaso Waris (16 years)
2. Bennett Bolawatife (15 years)
3. Aluko Taiwo (15 years)
4. Akinola Ifeoluwa (16 years)
5. Azeez Hassan (16 years)
6. Kilani Babatunde (aka Soldier) (16 years)
7. Kehinde Aluko (15 years)
8. Fasedemi Samuel (16 years).
Following interrogation, the students were said to have confessed that two students in the Senior Secondary School, identified as Ebenezer Ope and Ebenezer Tobi, initiated them into the cult group branded as Future Guys.
CSP Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson of the state police command, disclosed in a press briefing that the apprehended students were known for causing chaos in the school’s premises and extorting valuables from other students.
“The Ifo Divisional Police officer, in collaboration with the authorities of Ifo High School, has apprehended eight students suspected of engaging in cult activities within the school premises after the school headship raised alarm over an emerging gang of students cultists.
“On the 21st of March 2025, at about 1205hrs, the Vice Principal of Ifo High School, Mr. Alako Oluwole, alongside a teacher, Mr. Akinseku Oloruntoba Julius reported that a group of students had been involved in cult-related activities, perpetuating disturbances and extorting valuables from fellow students.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the students are members of the Future Guys (F.T.G.) cult group and were allegedly initiated by two senior students, Ebenezer Ope (the groupโs President) and Ebenezer Tobi, both in SSS 1.
โThe police have commenced a thorough investigation to determine the extent of cult activities in the school and prevent further occurrences.
โThe students will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department upon the conclusion of preliminary investigation.”
As the fraternity events unfold, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has instructed that the students be brought before him for further interrogation and mentorship where necessary.
