It seems the fiery furnace of the Akpabio-Natasha saga has been intensified seven times hotter following a tenacious denial by Senator Natasha of having received letters from Akpabio’s counsel, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Olisa Agbakoba, requesting her to retract her sexual harassment allegations against the Senate President.
Apparently, counsel to the Senate President, Agbakoba of Olisa Agbakoba Legal (OAL), was said to have written another letter to the suspended senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, requesting that she retract her claims as her statements are laced with contradictions and irregularities.
Embodied in the letter, Agbakoba had vividly spelled out that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan failed to clarify discrepancies surrounding her accusations, particularly concerning the timeline of events.
Senator Natasha was asked in the first letter, allegedly forwarded on April 14, 2024, to provide substantial evidence to corroborate her allegations made in February 2025, where she had claimed Akpabio sexually harassed her.
Further, Agbakoba demanded Senator Natasha clarify why she posted an appraisal of the Senate President online a day after the alleged incident happened, with the post being suspiciously deleted.
The second letter sought clarity and evidence of the claim, and in their absence, Agbakoba requested a retraction, noting the senator’s public appearances with Godswill Akpabio, such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union session in Geneva in March 2024 as evidently seen in photographs.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan however responded, claiming she never received any letter from the counsel and bluntly refusing to retract her allegations, dubbing Agbakoba’s move a ploy to silence and debase her.
