Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu, arguing that the challenges confronting the country did not begin under the current administration.
Anuku made the remarks while speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where he defended Tinubu against criticisms over the state of the nation.
The actor said Nigerians were too eager to see immediate results from the administration, stressing that previous governments had also played a role in creating the problems facing the country.
“Nigerians should be patient with Tinubu ’cos he’s doing great. We’re too much in a hurry. The country was not spoilt by him; there were people before him. Why don’t they go and attack those people?” he said.
Anuku further urged Nigerians to consider the circumstances inherited by the Tinubu administration rather than placing the blame for all the country’s difficulties on the President.
He added, “The devil we know is better than the angel we don’t.”
The actor’s comments come amid continued public debate over the Federal Government’s policies and the economic and social challenges facing Nigerians.
