The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has intensified its grassroots mobilisation in Ughelli, Delta State, as the party strengthens its structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The latest mobilisation efforts saw party leaders and stakeholders in Ughelli North Constituency I meet in Agbarha-Otor to review strategies for expanding the party’s presence and improving its engagement with voters across the constituency.
The meeting was held at the country home of the NDC candidate for the Udu, Ughelli North and Ughelli South Federal Constituency, Dr Obiuwevbi Ominimini.
Party leaders used the meeting to discuss grassroots mobilisation, internal cooperation and ways to build a stronger campaign structure ahead of the elections.
The development comes amid growing political activity in Ughelli and other parts of Delta State, with the NDC increasingly focusing on ward-level engagement and direct contact with residents.
The party has also been mobilising support for its candidates across Delta State, including its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, governorship candidate Chris Iyovwaye and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who is contesting the Delta Central senatorial seat.
Speaking during a September engagement with Christian leaders in Ughelli, Omo-Agege appealed for their support and prayers ahead of the 2027 election, while urging religious leaders to promote peaceful participation in the electoral process.
At the meeting, he also called for support for other NDC candidates and outlined concerns including unemployment, healthcare
