The corpse of a commercial motorcycle rider, identified as Frank Omoruyi, who was swept away by flood following torrential rain in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State, has been found.
It was learnt that his corpse was found in a pit in the area on Wednesday evening, 24 hours after he was swept away by flood.
The incident reportedly happened at Uwenlenbo Road, near Zekor Hotel in Ekpoma, after a heavy downpour from Monday night till Tuesday, as the deceased was trying to navigate a flooded road.
In a viral video of the incident on various social media, the victim, with his passenger on his motorcycle, was seen struggling before the floodwater swept him away.
Voices heard in the video said the rider was carrying a female passenger before he was swept away.
Some passers-by tried to assist the victim while he was still struggling with the wave of the flood water until he was finally swept away.
A community source said the corpse was discovered at a borrow pit in Ekpoma on Wednesday by someone who came to work there at about 5pm.
