Nigerian content creator and skit maker, Taaooma, has launched a new initiative aimed at helping skilled individuals acquire tools needed to grow their businesses.
The initiative, tagged Craft Forward, will begin with the “Tailors Edition”, through which five selected tailors will receive industrial sewing machines at no cost.
Taaooma announced the initiative on Tuesday, explaining that it was her way of giving back to a community that has supported her career over the years.
According to her, the first edition is specifically designed to support skilled tailors who require better equipment to expand their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
She stressed that the selection process would not be based on popularity, followers or social media engagement.
“No payment. No popularity contest. Your followers and likes will not determine whether you are selected,” she said.
Interested tailors were directed to her WhatsApp Channel, where the application details and official application form are available through the link in her social media bio.
Taaooma also warned applicants against fraudsters, stressing that nobody should make payments to anyone claiming to represent her or the Craft Forward initiative.
“This is only the beginning. Good luck!” she added.
The initiative is expected to provide selected beneficiaries with industrial sewing machines to strengthen their tailoring businesses and create opportunities for increased income.
