The Nigeria Customs Service has clarified the status of candidates shortlisted in its ongoing recruitment exercise, saying inclusion on the published list does not automatically amount to final appointment.
The clarification followed concerns from some applicants who had completed the Computer-Based Test, physical examination and other stages of the recruitment process but were uncertain about their invitations for basic training.
The service explained that final screening and other recruitment procedures were still being completed before successful candidates proceeded to training.
However, the latest information on the official Customs recruitment portal indicates that candidates who have completed the relevant screening and have been shortlisted for basic training are being instructed to report to the Customs Training College in Ikeja on October 9, 2026.
The development means applicants are advised to rely on the official recruitment portal for their individual status and training instructions rather than assuming that publication on an earlier list automatically guarantees appointment.
The Customs Service has continued to urge applicants to follow official recruitment channels for further information and avoid relying on unverified claims concerning the exercise.
