The kerfuffle between the tetrad of Senator Natasha, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, and the incumbent Kogi governor Usman Ododo has taken another dimension as Natasha released fresh allegations of an assassination plot, fingering Akpabio, Ododo, and Bello as the key players.
The allegation was made when the suspended senator Natasha paid a visit to her constituents, defying the political directive of Governor Ododo that there should be no movement of convoys or political gatherings.
Natasha, who arrived in a helicopter, addressed the teeming crowd of constituents, where she brazenly alleged that the trio of Yahaya, Akpabio, and Ododo were plotting to eliminate her.
Reacting to the allegation, the Kogi State government labeled the senator as “reckless and malicious.”
In an official statement released by the state Commissioner for Information Kingsley Fanwo, the government claimed that Natasha’s allegations were an attempt to incite civil unrest in the state.
“This is yet another desperate and calculated attempt by an incurable liar and serial manipulator to mislead the public, incite unrest, and present herself as a victim.”
The Senate President who had been fingered in the assassination plot has equally released a message cryptically exonerating himself from the allegation.
Speaking through his media aide Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio dismissed Akpoti-Uduaghanโs allegations noting:
“Anything concerning Natasha within the purview of the law is subjudice. There is no way you will comment on it without linking it to the President of the Senate, who is also a party to the suit.”
“That shows the level of respect she has for the rule of law herself. We cannot say anything more than that.”
