Well, the Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has never hidden the fact that he can be petty, following how he expressed his interest in seeing Fubara out of political power as opposed to the emergency rule imposed by the president.
“As a politician, I am not happy with the declaration of Emergency Rule in Rivers State.”
โI wanted the outright removal of the governor. But for the interest of the state, the president did the right thing to prevent anarchy in the state.โ Wike had expressed during a media round in Abuja on Friday.
Wike and Fubara have been embroiled in a long-standing dispute that Rotimi Amaechi claimed was caused by money sharing in the state.
The dispute has caused rancor in the state’s House of Assembly, with some factions loyal to Wike and some to Fubara.
The presidency has stepped in, initiating a sequel to an interim government to be headed by Vice Admiral Ibas for a period of six months following the suspension of Fubara, his deputy, and assembly members.
Wike mentioned that he wanted an outright removal of Fubara, whom he alone perceives as a disloyal son, instead of the emergency rule the president declared.
