In a brazen unanimous decision, the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward A4, Epe, Lagos State, have expressed strong opposition to the alleged imposition of candidates during the partyโs primary elections for local government chairmen and councillors.
Emerging reports gathered on Friday that the members protested the outcome of the primary held at the Epe local government secretariat, where a candidate who reportedly placed second was declared the winner by the party.
The disgruntled members accused former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikรบforiji, of meddling in the primary process.
Detailing their opposition in a petition addressed to the Chairman of the APC Primary Election Appeal Committee in Lagos State, the aggrieved candidate, Tukuru Ibrahim, called on the committee to review video footage and ballot papers from the council area to verify the election results.

“We are joining the plethora of protesting party members in the aftermath the Lagos State APC primary election. Our poll was captured on video, with video evidence showing clearly that Tukuru Ibrahim polled 16 votes, Badara Wasiu polled 6 votes and Shittu Kehinde polled nil,” a party source in Epe disclosed.
“We the APC members however got the greatest shock of our lives when the candidate that came a distant 2nd with 6 votes, Badara Wasiu, compared to that of Tukuru Ibrahim, was declared winner at the Acme road, APC Secretariat. We will not take this. We urge the APC commitee to consider the evidences,” the staunch party member said.
