Apparently, movie lovers have racked their brains trying to determine who is a better actress between the iconic duo of Nigeria’s Funke Akindele and America’s Taraji P. Henson.
This comparison has sent waves through the movie industry, with some rallying behind Funke Akindele, citing her versatility and rise to fame from when she starred in the comedy movie “Shirikoko” to “Jennifer’s Diary,” and down to breaking box office records twice with masterpieces like “A Tribe Called Judah” and “Everybody Loves Jennifer.”
Others, on the other hand, have given conflicting views, stating that Taraji’s versatility is unmatched, as seen in her breathtaking interpretation of roles in “Empire” and “Acrimony,” a role they believe can only be interpreted so far by Taraji.
Weighing in, influencer Enioluwa has condemned the stance of those trying to draw a comparison between the two actresses, whose contributions to the movie industries they represent are a force to be reckoned with.
Enioluwa, in a post, says:
โI don’t like seeing comments calling Aunty Funke the โNigerian version of Taraji P. Henson.โ Funke Akindele is an unstoppable box office record-breaker. She’s not a version of anyone but herself. As much as I love Taraji, I don’t understand the constant need to compare our icons to Western figures.โ
Who do you think is a better actress between the iconic duo?
