Kelly Igberi, a visually impaired comedian popularly known as Kellyblind, has received a four-bedroom, three-parlour duplex house gift worth 70 million naira in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, from Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.
The house gift was officially presented on Monday, March 24th, 2025, in Delta State at the organization’s head office in Bendel Estate, Ugberikoko.
The presentation involved the official handover of the house documents by the General Manager (Operations), Mr. Godfrey Tare Pondi, on behalf of the Managing Director of the company, High Chief (Engr.) Kestin Pondi.
Mr. Godfrey Tare Pondi stated that the company’s commitment goes beyond the security of pipelines to the protection of lives and the support of talented personalities.
The beneficiary of the house gift, Kellyblind, expressed unreserved appreciation towards his benefactor. In his speech, Kellyblind shared with the public how he lost his sight at age 11 due to measles. He also mentioned that his house was marked for demolition by the Lagos State government on July 25, 2018. Kellyblind would later meet Engr. Pondi at KFT during the TenTen concert in November last year and shared his story, leading to Engr. Pondi’s promise to gift him a house.
Relatives and friends of Mr. Pondi, including his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Igberhi, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the donor. Mrs. Igberhi notified that at first, skepticism set in, but now sees the philanthropist as a man who keeps his word.
MC Simon, a close associate of Kellyblind, also thanked Tantita Security Services for their kindness, noting that the donation has provided a permanent residence for Kellyblind and his family.
Engr. Pondi’s actions, as Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, demonstrate that there are still philanthropists who never slacks off on their promises. This act of generosity should be emulated by other organizations and brands to help reduce the rate poverty and crimes in the country.
