A heartbreaking tragedy has unfolded in Isiokolo, Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State, where a woman allegedly flogged her one-year-old son to death.
According to local reports, the yet-to-be-identified woman repeatedly abused the toddler without any justifiable reason. Neighbors who witnessed the ongoing mistreatment revealed that the woman was allegedly abandoned by the child’s father—an internet fraudster who impregnated her and disappeared soon after the baby was born.
They added that the woman often became visibly agitated whenever she saw the child, claiming he reminded her of her past trauma. This emotional outburst reportedly led to frequent physical assaults on the innocent child.

Tragically, the latest episode of violence proved fatal. The baby, unable to survive the severe beating, was rushed to the hospital by concerned neighbors but was pronounced dead by medical personnel upon arrival.
As of the time of this report, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, has yet to respond to inquiries for confirmation and official comments.
