The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed that the individual who breached security protocol during President Bola Tinubuโs project commissioning at Murtala Mohammed Square was born with a psychiatric disorder.
In an official statement, the Commandโs spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, identified the man as Umar Mohammed, a resident of Anguwan Muazu in Kaduna.
According to the police, Umar Mohammed was screened and granted access into the stadium as a supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He wore a standard campaign T-shirt and carried banners featuring images of President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, like other attendees.
The police explained that the breach occurred when the individual, overwhelmed by excitement and curiosity, crossed into a restricted area in an attempt to get a closer look at the President. Security operatives promptly intervened, restraining and arresting him.
A thorough search was conducted, and no incriminating items were found in his possession.
Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, has urged the public to avoid spreading misinformation or politicising the incident. He added that further investigations are ongoing.
