Last month, FIFA revealed that the Los Angeles show would feature Davido alongside Diplo’s Major Lazer.
On Wednesday night, Davido electrified the crowd with hits like ‘Unavailable’ and ‘With You’.
Major Lazer later brought him back on stage to perform the World Cup anthem ‘No Place Like Home’.
Davido wore a customized jacket with the names of children kidn@pp£d by t£rr0r!sts in Oyo, with the message “Bring Them Home” before taking the stage at the FIFA World Cup.
On his black jacket, the singer attached 46 green lapels bearing the names of the 39 pupils and seven teachers recently kidnapped in Oyo, Nigeria. The back of the jacket also bears the inscription ‘Bring Them Home’.
On May 15, suspected bandits attacked three schools in the Oriire LGA, abducting about 39 students and seven teachers.
The incident sparked widespread outrage, culminating in nationwide protests for two days by members of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) and other stakeholders.
Using the global spotlight, Davido visibly advocated for their immediate release.
