Jamie Vardy, the former Leicester City striker, has claimed that Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi made use of “juju cream” to overcome their injuries during their time at the club.
The English footballer spoke in the latest episode of ‘Jamie Vardy’s Having a Party’ podcast.
Vardy was a teammate of both Iheanacho and Ndidi at Leicester City from 2017 to 2024, and the club won the Community Shield and the FA Cup within that period.
Recounting some behind-the-scenes information from that time at the King Power Stadium, Vardy narrated how the Nigerian duo used to head home after injuries and return to the club with “a nice big tub of juju cream”, which was the only ointment the masseuse was allowed to apply to the affected area.
Vardy added that when the players are queried about the source of the substance, they would claim it was from “a Nigerian witch doctor”.
“They used to get injured. Little knocks, then go back to Nigeria for just one day. They come back with a nice big tub of juju cream,” the English striker said.
“That was the only thing that the messeuse was allowed to apply to the injured area. They used to tell us that it had come from a Nigerian witch doctor.”
