South African star Tyla has broken her silence to deny claims that she stole her hit song ‘Chanel’ from American rapper Yung Miami, while acknowledging she had attended a listening party months before the track’s release.
The controversy began in October 2025, when Yung Miami accused Tyla of running off with the concept behind her own unreleased song, ‘Take Me to Chanel’.
The former City Girls rapper claimed she had personally played the track for Tyla before the singer previewed and released her own version.
Tyla stayed silent for months as fans debated the two songs online, comparing them and dissecting the timeline.
Now clearing the air, the ‘Water’ hitmaker has firmly rejected any suggestion of theft, insisting the song was her own creation.
She did, however, reportedly acknowledge being present at a listening party months before ‘Chanel’ dropped — a detail that has fuelled fresh debate among fans.
