Air Peace has diverted one of its Lagos-to-Asaba flights back to Lagos after poor visibility around the runway at Asaba Airport made it impossible for the aircraft to land safely.
The affected flight, P47860, was diverted on Thursday, August 27, 2026, amid adverse weather conditions.
In a flight operations update, Air Peace spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, said the diversion had disrupted the affected flight and was expected to cause delays across some of the airline’s operating network.
“This unforeseen development has disrupted the flight and other flights across our operating networks will be delayed,” the airline said.
The airline apologised to affected passengers and assured them that the safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew remained its top priority.
“We deeply regret the inconvenience caused and be assured that the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew remain our top priority and guide for every operational decision we make,” Air Peace said.
The airline advised passengers seeking further assistance or updates on their flights to contact its customer service centre through email or telephone.
Poor visibility can significantly affect aircraft landing and take-off operations, particularly during adverse weather conditions.
