Popular Nigerian streamer and content creator Peller has clarified that his proposed livestream with former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi should not be interpreted as an endorsement of any political candidate.
Peller made the clarification after revealing that Obi’s team had contacted him to discuss a possible livestream session on his platform.
In a video circulating on social media on Wednesday, the content creator said his interest in the proposed collaboration was primarily to create content and grow his platform, rather than promote a political agenda.
“Peter Obi people reached out to me that he wants to do a livestream with me. Before you people get the wrong idea, I’m not promoting any presidential candidate, and I’m not asking you to vote for Peter Obi. I just want to stream with him on my platform,” he said.
The streamer’s remarks come amid growing engagement between Nigerian politicians and social media personalities as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The proposed collaboration has generated reactions online, with some social media users viewing it as an opportunity for Obi to connect with younger Nigerians, while others have questioned the political implications of the planned interaction.
However, Peller maintained that his intention was to host the politician for content creation purposes and not to campaign on his behalf.
As of Wednesday, October 14, no date had been announced for the proposed livestream.
