The Federal Government has announced an increase in the prices of driverโs licences and number plates nationwide, with the new rates taking effect from June 8.
This adjustment was introduced by the Joint Tax Board, responsible for overseeing tax-related issues in Nigeria, following a review of production costs and enhancements to security features.
The board explained that the production of number plates and driverโs licences has become more costly due to the integration of advanced security measures.
While these upgrades aim to enhance safety and curb fraud, they have also significantly increased manufacturing expenses.
