A gloomy shadow of uncertainty hovers over Akwa Ibom State and the People’s Democratic Party following Governor Umo’s dumping of the party and defection to the All Progressives Congress.
The People’s Insight gathered that Comrade Ini Ememobong, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Special Duties, has formally resigned from his position following Governor Pastor Umo Enoโs recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his resignation letter, Ememobong made it clear that he could not follow the Governor to the APC, highlighting a divergence in political beliefs and affiliations.
The People’s Insight recall that Governor Umo Eno had previously instructed all Commissioners unwilling to join him in the APC to step down from their roles.
This move signals a major political shift in the state’s leadership and could potentially lead to further resignations or realignments in the days ahead.
