The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates with outstanding admission offers from the 2021 to 2025 admission exercises to November 30, 2026.
The extension gives affected candidates additional time to either accept or reject their outstanding admission offers on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
JAMB had initially fixed September 30, 2026, as the deadline. However, the Board approved the additional two months after CAPS was temporarily unavailable for about 96 hours, preventing some candidates from accessing their admission records.
JAMB warned that November 30 would be the final deadline for candidates to indicate their decisions.
It said any outstanding admission offer that remains neither accepted nor rejected after the deadline would automatically revert to “Not Admitted” on its records.
The Board also stated that any subsequent request to alter such admission records would attract the applicable penalty fee.
Candidates who accept their outstanding offers will be able to proceed with printing their admission letters, while those who reject the offers will have their dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted.”
JAMB particularly urged candidates whose admissions are not reflected on the matriculation list to take action, noting that failure to properly regularise their admission records could affect access to benefits linked to documented admissions, including participation in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
The Board further clarified that candidates who are no longer studying at institutions where they previously received admission offers, or who are currently enrolled in different programmes, may accept the outstanding admission and subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion where applicable.
Candidates currently pursuing a second degree but still holding an unaccepted admission offer from an earlier exercise may also reject the old offer and continue with their current programme.
JAMB added that candidates who have received admission for the 2026 exercise but still have outstanding offers from previous years can reject the earlier offers without affecting their 2026 admission.
The Board urged all affected candidates to check their CAPS accounts and take the necessary action before the November 30 deadline.
It reiterated that failure to accept or reject outstanding 2021–2025 admission offers by the deadline would result in the offers reverting to “Not Admitted.”
